La Clnica de la Raza is one of the largest community health centers in California, with 48 years of experience serving the community. We offer medical, dental, & behavioral health services and serve patients in Alameda, Contra Costa and Solano Counties. Our mission is to improve the quality of life of the diverse communities we serve by providing culturally and linguistically appropriate, high quality and accessible health care
for all.

Integrated Behavioral Health

La Clnica was an early adopter of Behavioral Health Integration bringing behavioral health into
medical settings to improve access to behavioral health assessment and brief treatment for our patients. Each clinician is a member of an interdisciplinary team of medical providers and medical assistants that focuses on "whole person" care. We provide services in Alameda, Contra Costa
& Solano Counties.

Eligibility: Enrollment in an MSW program and ability to participate 20 (1st year) or 24 (2nd year) hours a week

La Clnica Stipend:

  • $16,000 for 24hs/wk placement (2nd year)
  • $12,880 for 20hrs/wk placement (1st year)

Training

La Clnica Behavioral Health internship prepares 1st and 2nd MSW students to use evidence-based, culturally responsive practices in the field. All La Clnica interns participate in a weekly didactic component that covers abroad range of topics, including:

  • Stages of Treatment-Building Rapport/Therapeutic
  • Alliance
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
  • Dialectical Behavioral Therapy Skills
  • Motivational Interviewing
  • Risk Assessment and Safety Planning Training
  • Individual and Family Therapy
  • Assessment, Diagnosis (DSM & ICD-10) and
  • Establishing Medical Necessity
  • Trauma-informed Therapies
