Position Data:

Grade: 2 Non-Exempt

Reports to: Child Care Council Director


Basic Function or Position Summary:

Assists with food preparation and delivery of food for children at sites throughout Chautauqua County.


Temporary Part-time position 

For the duration of the Summer Food Program : Beginning date: 6/29/26  ending date: 8/21/26

Pay Rate is $16.32 / hour.  up to 29 hours/weekly




Requirements

  IV. Position Responsibilities and Specific Duties:

Assist in the preparation of breakfast, lunch, and snacks daily 

Ensure special food requirements for food allergies are followed

Keeps stock rooms, coolers, and freezers clean; Ensures that food supplies are rotated, and all perishables are labeled, dated, and stored properly, as directed

Test the temperature of foods at specified intervals

Set up for delivery of food 

Place food into vehicles for transport to off-site locations

Maintain kitchen cleanliness and proper food preparation according to health department code requirements and kitchen procedures 

Support in the transportation of meals and supplies to sites 

Assist with stocking of groceries

Complete needed paperwork

Promotes agency mission.

Maintains confidentiality and complies with the code of ethics.

Maintains consistent professional customer service.

Job performance incorporates integrated service delivery model while promoting self-sufficiency.

Other duties as designated by supervisor

A. Internal: ECE Center Directors, Head Cook, Assistant Cook, Child Care Council Staff, Child Care Council Director

B. External: Vendors, customers, and agencies

VII. Organizational Responsibilities:

Adheres to Summer Food and CACFP food preparation and safety regulations

Adheres to all policies and procedures

Gathers appropriate documentation and tracks outcomes

Participates in organizational committee structures as appropriate

Participates in organizational and divisional management systems


VIII. Knowledge, Skills Required:

16 years of age or HS diploma and /or GED

Knowledge of health and sanitation procedures and practices



IX. Physical 

Ability to lift up to and including 25-50 pounds of physical effort



X. Special Requirements: 

Must be able to provide consistent even tempered customer service at all times

Valid Driver's license 

Authorized Driver of a COI Vehicle

Reliable transportation

Ability to travel throughout the county 

Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing required; subject to random drug and alcohol testing for cause
