Your Impact at LILA

Lila is seeking a motivated Electrical Engineering Co-Op to join the Hardware & Controls Engineering team and contribute to electrical systems for automated scientific equipment.

In this role, you'll gain hands-on experience with electrical design, rapid prototyping, documentation, testing, and cross-system integration. You'll work alongside experienced engineers in a collaborative R&D environment, applying classroom and project experience to real-world automation challenges.

This is an opportunity to build practical engineering skills while helping create systems that support the future of autonomous science.

What You'll Be Building

  • Create and update wiring schematics, electrical drawings, and engineering documentation.
  • Support electrical design work for automated scientific instruments and prototype systems.
  • Build, test, calibrate, and troubleshoot electrical systems under engineering supervision.
  • Assist with process instrumentation, sensors, and field-level control devices.
  • Document test plans, results, and design changes with attention to accuracy and traceability.
  • Collaborate with engineers and scientists to translate lab workflows into automated solutions.
  • Communicate technical progress, risks, and blockers clearly within project teams.
