The Position:

The Electrical Engineer I in the training center is responsible for developing, implementing, and delivering technical training programs for internal service field engineers (FSEs), service vendor partners, and customers. This role ensures that all participants gain a comprehensive understanding of Sungrow products, that include installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance procedures. The Trainer will also evaluate training effectiveness, assess the FSEs training performance, and make necessary adjustments to improve training outcomes.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop comprehensive training materials, including manuals, presentations, hands-on exercises, and assessments tailored to various audience levels.
  • Collaborate with product development and engineering technical service teams to gather detailed technical information and ensure training materials are accurate and current.
  • Update and enhance existing training programs to align with new product developments, industry standards, and best practices.
  • Conduct training sessions for internal field service engineers, service vendor partners, and customers, both in-person and through virtual platforms.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional techniques to ensure engagement and effective knowledge transfer, including lectures, demonstrations, hands-on practice, and group discussions.
  • Coordinate with R&D engineering in Hefei, China for the generation of technical documents for training purposes.
  • Develop and administer assessments to measure training effectiveness and participants’ comprehension of the training material.
  • Develop evaluation approaches to certify internal field service engineers and service vendor partners.
  • Organize and lead the customer visits and products introduction in Sungrow facilities.
  • Gather feedback from participants through surveys and evaluations to identify areas for improvement.
  • Analyze assessment results and feedback to refine training programs and materials.
  • Serve as a technical resource for internal field service engineers, service vendor partners, and customers, offering expertise and troubleshooting assistance as needed.
  • Prepare and present reports on training activities, outcomes, and areas for improvement to management.
  • Participate in professional development activities, such as workshops, seminars, and conferences, to continuously enhance training skills and technical knowledge.
  • Advise, provide training on, and lead employees on various safety-related topics
  • Help on the repair activities in the Engineering Service center.
  • Support development of technical proposal and provide comments on the technical content and level of effort of the proposed scope of work.
  • Support the data analysis and visualization software development work when necessary.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, electronics, renewable energy, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in training, preferably in the renewable energy sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of solar inverter technologies and their applications.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in using training software and virtual training platforms.
  • Demonstrates broad knowledge of electrical and construction site safety.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, power Point and Outlook).
  • Must have basic knowledge of Electrical Safety Standards.


Education or Desired License and Certificates:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Technical degree with equivalent experience.
  • Solar industry, battery industry, or power electronics experience is required.

  • Self-starter, strong initiatives and an excellent communicator.
  • System and product level mindset.
  • Organization, detailed-oriented nature and strong initiative.
  • Strong technical support focus and a service-oriented individual both with Sales team and customers.
  • English Language fluency required.
  • Mandarin Chinese Proficiency desired but not required.
  • Certification in training and development (e.g., Certified Professional in Learning and Performance) is a plus.
  • Master of data analysis and visualization tools such as R or Python is a plus.


Travel:

  • 10% to 30%

For candidates in the states of California, Colorado, New York and Washington, the anticipated annual base salary for this role is between $80,000 - $100,000 This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The base salary offered is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, qualifications, experience, education, location, or other factors related to the role.
