The Controls & Electrical Engineer I is responsible for supporting the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of electrical and control systems used in manufacturing and industrial environments. This entry-level role works under the guidance of senior engineers and project leaders to assist with PLC-based hardware and software, automation projects, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
This position reports to the Global Sr Manager Controls and Automation and is part of the Advanced Engineering Team located in Hauppauge NY and will be an on-site role.
What you will do:
  • Assist in analyzing manufacturing processes and identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements, improvement of new processes, technologies, and equipment to support OEE improvements
  • Support documentation including modification of electrical and control systems schematics, control narratives, and standard procedures
  • Assist with writing, testing, and debugging PLC and HMI control logic
  • Support troubleshooting of electrical, control, and process-related issues
  • Support validation, installation, commissioning, and startup activities for automation projects

Who you are:
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation Engineering, or Computer Engineering
  • Experience in electrical, controls, or automation engineering (co-op or internship experience acceptable)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical.
  • Willingness to learn, take direction, and grow into increased technical

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
  • Internship or co-op experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Basic knowledge of electrical concepts, control systems, NEC requirements, automation safety standards and ability to read and develop electrical schematics (AutoCAD experience preferred)
  • Familiarity with troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment and common industrial electrical components (sensors, VFDs, motors, relays, PLC I/O)

The annual salary range for this role is $77,000 - $90,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
We offer comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.
