Job description

The Allied Solutions internship program is a robust and consistent internship program for juniors and seniors. The program will focus on learning and development as well as hands-on experience. The program will immerse the intern into a broad range of responsibilities, allowing you to execute projects within your area of professional interests.
Interested applicants must be available during the 12-week program (May 17th - Aug. 6th, 2027). This is a full-time internship (40-hours per week) based at our headquarters in Carmel, IN.
The Risk Management Intern will partner with internal departments to evaluate business processes, policies, controls, and operational activities to identify risks and support effective mitigation strategies. The internship provides broad exposure across risk management disciplines, which may include process risk assessments, issue resolution, due diligence, risk and control testing, operational monitoring, business continuity, and compliance.
Through these experiences, the intern will analyze information, identify trends, collaborate with stakeholders, and contribute to solutions that strengthen the quality, effectiveness, and resilience of Allied's products, services, and operations.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Process Risk Assessment

  • Assess business processes and operational activities to identify risks, control weaknesses, trends, and improvement opportunities.

  • Analyze assessment, audit, testing, and operational results and communicate significant findings.

  • Evaluate remediation efforts and recommend improvements to processes, controls, and client experience.

  • Maintain assessment data and support risk and trend reporting.

Risk Insight, Solution & Evaluation

  • Support identification, analysis, documentation, and resolution of operational risk issues and quality events.

  • Partner with stakeholders to evaluate root causes, corrective actions, and remediation effectiveness.

  • Monitor operational performance, capacity, service levels, and emerging risk indicators.

  • Analyze trends and enhance reporting, dashboards, and management visibility.

Business Resilience and Compliance

  • Support client, vendor, and third-party due diligence activities and documentation.

  • Support business continuity planning, impact and dependency assessments, exercises, testing, and disruption analysis.

  • Monitor regulatory developments and assist with evaluating and communicating business impacts.

  • Support compliance assessments, monitoring, reporting, and related risk activities.

Risk and Control Documentation and Testing

  • Maintain risk, control, assessment, and testing documentation within risk management systems.

  • Support identification and evaluation of operational risks and associated controls.

  • Participate in control design and effectiveness testing and identify improvement opportunities.

  • Support reporting of testing results, findings, trends, and overall risk and control performance.

Qualifications (Education, Experience, Certifications & KSA)

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program as a rising Junior or Senior, pursuing a degree in Risk Management, Insurance, Business Administration, or a related field

  • Ability to manage deadlines

  • Ability to multitask

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to prioritize
