Job description

Job Summary:

Responsible for all aspects of day-of-show stage monitor audio production. Including, but not limited to: Load In & Load Out, Run-of-Show Production & System Troubleshooting.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: These functions are intended as a general illustration of the work performed in this job classification and are not all inclusive for this position.

  • Perform the Load-in & out of band equipment and rental equipment.
  • Cabling and patching.
  • Audio adjustments, maintaining safe audio levels. While providing a professional mix.
  • Audio Control Board operation.
  • Oversee visiting audio techs, especially during shows.
  • Responsible for safe and operation of house Audio systems(s).
  • Assist with Production throughout the House as needed.
  • Assist with the technical advance with Artist's representatives.
  • Ensure proper care and handling of all STC Live and rental audio equipment.
  • Interact with visiting production crews to ensure a successful show.
  • Distribute or create audio plans for music concerts, special events, and conferences.
  • Oversee and operate systems pertaining to audio throughout the entire venue.
  • Ensure events audio needs are scheduled and met.
  • Ensure maintenance and repair of sound equipment.
  • Attend Production Meetings.
  • Attend all scheduled sound checks.
  • Work with other venue sound personnel as needed, such as lobby sound needs.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly working environment at all times.
  • Communicate updates and issues to applicable stakeholders.
  • Assist in emergency procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED. Extensive related work experience may be considered in lieu of educational requirement.
  • Minimum of (2) years of experience as an A2 or similar.
  • Demonstrate solid knowledge of analog/digital signal flow and an ability to assist A1 with system troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of radio frequency and the requirement for coordination/stage-specific settings with Wireless microphone and IEM systems.
  • Knowledge of how to "ring out" a monitor wedge.
  • Understanding of monitor workflow while being able to adequately operate numerous mixes of both ear and wedge simultaneously or separately, as well demonstrated ability to accommodate sound effects and feedback prevention.
  • Possess working familiarity with the Midas Heritage D audio desk.
  • Working knowledge and skill using Microsoft Office Suite applications, Digital console controls, Avid Pro Tools (or similar music software), and Waves Tracks Live (or similar multitrack recording software).

This job is active in nature. Must be able to stand for long periods while performing various duties. Moderate to heavy lifting (25 - 100 pounds) required.

Specific hearing and vision abilities required by this job; Work in an environment with moderate to loud noise level, extreme lighting changes, strobes & moving lights; Able to wear a radio earpiece during the scheduled shift.
