Job description

THE POSITION As a Clerical Assistant 2 with the Allegheny County Assistance Office - Alle-Kiski, you will be a key part of helping the office deliver timely and effective services. This job provides a structured environment where your careful work supports both clients and staff. You will work in a setting that values teamwork, respect, and thoughtful problem solving.

The Department of Human Services invites you to bring your focus and dedication to this important role. DESCRIPTION OF WORK This role provides clerical support that helps the district office operate efficiently while ensuring client information is handled with care and accuracy. As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will perform the following duties: Application Processing: Complete registration steps, scan documents, resolve discrepancies, and enter updates Mail Handling: Sort, date stamp, scan, and distribute incoming and outgoing mail File Management: Purge records, pack case files for storage, and maintain organized systems Phone Communication: Answer inquiries, take detailed messages, and direct calls appropriately Client Greeting: Welcome visitors, gather information, maintain logs, and support front desk activities Data Entry: Update cases, benefits, budgets, and forms based on staff instructions Interested in learning more.

Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description. Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full time employment, 37.5 hours per week. Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 1-hour lunch

Telework: This position may be eligible to telework part time. Specific details of the telework schedule will be discussed during the interview process. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.

If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in New Kensington, PA. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,831 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Graduation from high school; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
