JOB SUMMARY

  • GMRE is currently recruiting for an Aircraft Sheet Metal Technician. This position is day shift and may be eligible for per-diem based on GSA.gov standards. 
  • The Aircraft Sheet Metal Technician will perform maintenance and modifications on assigned aircraft.


 ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The individual in this role will repair, fabricate, modify, reshape, and install aircraft sheet metal parts, items, and assemblies.
  • Must have the ability to follow blueprints, measure for correct alignment, cut sheet metal to size, drill holes, fasten members together by bolting, riveting, glue etc.
  • This work requires knowledge of sheet metal principles involved in aircraft and related equipment.
  • Recommends methods to improve equipment performance and maintenance.
  • Knowledge is mandatory of sheet metal fabrication and repair, concepts and application of maintenance directives.
  • Possess the skill to remove and replace aircraft parts IAW established Technical Data Specifications.
  • Ability to interpret the meaning of symbols used in wiring diagrams, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Must have the ability to properly handle, use, and dispose of hazardous waste and materials.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of five (5) years sheet metal and structures experience in Fighter/Attack/Bomber/Transport (preferably F-16) maintenance as a sheet metal technician. Must possess the skill to remove and replace aircraft parts IAW established Technical Data Specifications.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have ability to obtain and maintain an active U.S. SECRET clearance and be subject to a government security investigation.
  • Driving or renting a car for company business is expected with some frequency. For insurance purposes, a valid driver's license is required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Normal color vision as defined by GMRE, with a passing score of 75% or greater.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.

TRAVEL REQUIRED

  • Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position for meetings, trainings, and/or site visits.
