Job description

Aircraft Sheet Metal Technician (Levels I–III)

Join a team that performs critical structural fabrication, modification, repair, and maintenance work on aircraft and aircraft components. In this hands-on role, you'll help ensure aircraft are maintained to the highest FAA, OEM, and quality standards while supporting both shop and field operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform sheet metal structural fabrication, modification, repair, and assembly work.

  • Disassemble, inspect, repair, fabricate, manufacture, maintain, and assemble aircraft parts, components, and wiring.

  • Install aircraft parts and components at the base facility and in field environments.

  • Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, drawings, specifications, repair manuals, and FAA regulations.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve aircraft and component discrepancies, including Aircraft on Ground (AOG) situations.

  • Complete required documentation, maintain accurate records, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Travel as needed to support customer and operational requirements.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver's license.

  • Experience with drilling, countersinking, riveting, reaming, jig/fixture use, and sheet metal repair tools.

  • Ability to read blueprints and perform fabrication, drilling, riveting, and structural repairs.

  • Knowledge of FAA regulations and aviation manufacturing, maintenance, and repair requirements.

  • Must own or be willing to purchase a set of sheet metal tools.

  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and travel domestically/internationally as needed.

Experience Levels
  • Level I: 1–3 years aircraft maintenance, repair, or fabrication experience.

  • Level II: 4–9 years aircraft maintenance, repair, or fabrication experience.

  • Level III: 10+ years experience plus Airframe and/or Powerplant (A&P) license.

Preferred: A&P license, FCC license, experience with thin contoured structures and large structural fittings.

Successful candidates are safety-focused, detail-oriented, adaptable team players with strong communication, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
