What is internship aesthetics?

Internship Aesthetics refer to temporary training positions within the field of aesthetics, which involves skincare, beauty treatments, and non-surgical cosmetic procedures. These internships give students or recent graduates hands-on experience in aesthetic clinics or spas under the supervision of licensed professionals. Interns learn about various treatments such as facials, chemical peels, laser therapy, and customer service skills. The goal is to gain practical knowledge, build professional networks, and improve employability in the aesthetics industry.

What types of hands-on experiences can I expect during an internship in aesthetics?

As an intern in aesthetics, you can expect to assist with client consultations, observe various skincare and cosmetic procedures, and help with daily clinic operations such as preparing treatment rooms and maintaining equipment. You may also have opportunities to shadow licensed aestheticians during treatments like facials, chemical peels, or laser therapies, gaining valuable insights into client care and safety protocols. This role often involves collaborating with both the clinical team and administrative staff, offering a well-rounded introduction to the aesthetics industry.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an aesthetics intern, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Aesthetics Intern, you generally need foundational knowledge in skincare, cosmetic procedures, and anatomy, often supported by enrollment in or completion of an aesthetics or cosmetology program. Familiarity with tools such as dermal fillers, lasers, and skincare analysis systems, as well as a basic understanding of safety and sanitation protocols, is important. Strong attention to detail, excellent communication, and a willingness to learn make an intern stand out in this field. These skills and qualities are crucial for ensuring client safety, effective treatments, and building trust in a professional aesthetics environment.

    • Finance Shared Services: Finance Shared Services governs and supports AbbVie's global, standardized, end-to-end, back-office processes, maintaining the operations and transactional business activities that enable the company to run.

    • Internal Audit: Internal Audit protects and enhances organizational value by providing risk-based and objective assurance, advice, and insight.

    • Tax and Global Trade Compliance (GTC): Tax is a trusted business partner that enables our business by fulfilling tax legal obligations and through collaboration with key finance and operational functions.
