Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and hands-on Semiconductor Technician to join our R&D Pilot Facility team to support the SHIELD USA program. In this role, you will support the development, fabrication, and testing of next-generation semiconductor devices and processes. You will work closely with engineers and scientists to translate experimental concepts into repeatable pilot-scale operations, ensuring smooth transitions from lab-scale research to early manufacturing.
This position may be subject to additional screening in the hiring process.
Essential Duties:
  • Operate, monitor, and maintain semiconductor processing equipment (e.g., lithography, patterning, deposition, mechanical grind, dicing and various metrology)
  • Execute experimental process runs according to engineering specifications and document results.
  • Perform wafer-level inspections, measurements, and data collection to support process characterization.
  • Assist in troubleshooting equipment and process issues in collaboration with engineering staff.
  • Maintain a cleanroom environment by following strict safety and contamination control protocols.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives in yield, reliability, and process efficiency.
  • Accurately log experimental data, maintain records, and prepare technical summaries for review.
  • Train and mentor junior technicians on equipment operation and best practices.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience in R&D or pilot-scale facility or high-volume manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis tools.
  • Ability to perform basic equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Flexibility to work in shifts or extended hours as required by R&D schedules.
  • Associate degree in Electronics, Materials Science, Semiconductor Technology, or related field; or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in semiconductor wafer fabrication, pilot line, or cleanroom environment.
  • Familiarity with semiconductor processing tools and techniques.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex procedures.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
