Job description

Director, International Sales and Export OperationsLocation: National (within commuting distance of a major airport)

ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions Americas Commercial Segment is seeking an experienced and business-minded leader to support international sales, export operations, distributor relationships, and market development for ANSI solutions across global markets. Reporting to the Regional Vice President, this role will help drive export market penetration, ensure compliance with international trade requirements, and collaborate with internal and external partners to deliver excellent customer experiences from demand generation through shipment and after-sales support.

What you will be doing
  • Lead and support export operations from demand generation through shipment, after-sales service, and compliance with international trade laws, export controls, and ASSA ABLOY's Code of Conduct.
  • Manage and strengthen internal and external distributor relationships to promote ANSI solutions, maximize export market penetration, and optimize global sales channel coverage.
  • Develop and execute market-specific growth plans, including special pricing programs, customer engagement strategies, and tools to track market and customer activity.
  • Maintain current market intelligence, including ASSA ABLOY's position, competitor activity, customer needs, and emerging opportunities in destination markets.
  • Collaborate with senior management, operating companies, product management, and global partners to align market demands, technical specifications, environmental requirements, and code standards.
  • Coordinate product, application, and factory training for distributors, specifiers, end users, market partners, and operating companies.
  • Prepare accurate sales forecasts, operating budgets, and business updates for senior management.
  • Travel domestically and internationally approximately 50% of the time to support customers, partners, training, and market development activities.
What we are looking for
  • Bachelor's degree in business, international business, sales, marketing, supply chain, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in international sales, export operations, channel management, business development, or a related commercial leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of distributor management, international market development, export processes, and customer relationship management.
  • Knowledge of export compliance, international trade regulations, and related business controls.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across global teams, operating companies, product management, senior leadership, and external partners.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience preparing sales forecasts, budgets, market plans, and business updates for senior leaders.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, influence without direct authority, and operate effectively in a matrixed global organization.
  • Experience in access solutions, door hardware, building products, security products, or related industries is preferred.

This salary range is a reasonable estimate for this position at the time of posting.
