Job description

Our People Relations team partners closely with leaders and employees to support thoughtful, consistent approaches to performance improvement, workplace concerns, and moments that matter across the employee experience. This role blends hands-on case support with proactive coaching, helping create a workplace grounded in trust, accountability, and thoughtful decision-making.

What you'll do (day-to-day)

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to managers and employees on performance improvement, workplace concerns, and conflict resolution
  • Guide leaders through key moments in the employee lifecycle, including performance conversations, written feedback, and improvement plans
  • Conduct and lead employee relations reviews and investigations, including complex, high risk and sensitive matters, ensuring fair, impartial, timely, and well-documented outcomes
  • Provide in-the-moment coaching to leaders to build capability and confidence in managing employee situations
  • Assess risk and recommend appropriate actions to Business Leadership, partnering with Legal and People Enablement Business Partners as needed
  • Maintain clear, objective case documentation, including summaries, timelines, and recommended actions
  • Provide regular reporting and insights on case activity, using data and trends to inform decision-making and proactive solutions

  • Foster a culture where feedback is constructive, concerns are addressed early, and accountability is shared
  • Bring a thoughtful, risk-aware perspective that balances business needs with fair and equitable outcomes
  • Strengthen consistency in how policies and practices are applied across teams and geographies
  • Support the development of practical tools and training that equip leaders to navigate employee situations with confidence and make informed, balanced decisions

  • Identify trends across cases and share insights to inform proactive solutions, policy updates, and manager enablement strategies
  • Partner cross-functionally to improve and scale processes, driving consistency, efficiency, and clarity across the organization 

What you bring

  • 5+ years of experience in an Employee Relations, Performance Coaching or HR Business Partner role
  • Demonstrated ability to manage performance improvement and employee relations matters from intake through resolution
  • Experience influencing and coaching leaders at different levels, with a practical and approachable style
  • Strong working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices across multiple jurisdictions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex situations into clear, balanced documentation
  • Sound judgment and discretion when handling sensitive and confidential matters
  • Ability to navigate competing priorities and make thoughtful decisions in a fast-paced environment
