Job description

Job Title: Task Lead and Senior International SOF Support SME


Place of Performance: Onsite at HQ USSOCOM, MacDill Air Force Base, Tampa, Florida


Security Clearance: Current DoW Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.


Education:

  • Master’s degree in international security studies.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Researches and prepares read ahead packages including strategic objectives, key themes, messages, talking points, biographies, and previous conference read outs
  • Drafts and recommends international engagement strategies for the Division, Directorate, and Command Group
  • Provides international relations expertise and advice to leadership regarding bilateral and multilateral engagements
  • Provides quality assurance and support for drafting international correspondence
  • Responds to requests for information regarding international key leader engagements
  • Coordinates with J2, J3, and J5 Director’s Action Groups to maintain situational awareness of command priorities
  • Maintains expertise regarding current U.S. policy and strategy for international relations
  • Performs close out and escort duties in accordance with J3 I Security Procedures


Experience:

  • Recent experience (last 3 years) demonstrating successful development, coordination, & execution of strategic level engagements on a Commander’s Action Group at the Combatant Command/4-star level.
  • 1-year recent experience demonstrating successful development, coordination, & execution of strategic level engagements on a Commander’s Action Group or Political Advisor at the COCOM/TSOC level. 
  • 3 years’ experience using analytic and communication skills to prepare staff and coordinate written products and briefings for senior leader (general officer/flag officer/senior executive service level) use.
  • 3 years’ recent experience in developing business and communication strategies intended to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Current DoW Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.


Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, Teams, and SharePoint
  • Strong written communication skills for strategic documents, read aheads, and executive correspondence
  • Ability to analyze international policy, partner nation priorities, and strategic engagement requirements


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting USSOCOM or TSOC international engagements
  • Experience coordinating senior leader engagements with partner nation military personnel
  • Experience preparing strategic communication materials for multinational audiences
