Position Summary

The Administrative Assistant for the Crescendo School of Music and Dance is responsible for administrative support of all activities related to the school. This includes scheduling of teachers/instructors/contractors and students, coordination of Crescendo events, creating and implementing programs, and general operation of the school.

Essential Functions

Crescendo School of Music and Dance

  • Student, group, and teacher scheduling and tracking
  • Process all Crescendo payments.
  • Ensure all supplies, equipment and instruments are ordered.
  • Receptionist duties
  • Greet Crescendo students, oversee reception area during lesson periods.
  • Assist with ensuring compliance with Protecting the Mission standards.
  • Assist with ensuring safety of staff and students using the visual monitoring system.
  • Work with Crescendo/Campus Director to manage use of facility contracts.
  • Work with Crescendo/Campus Director to ensure maintenance of all Crescendo property and equipment, and maintain inventory.
  • Send birthday cards to Crescendo students.

Crescendo Events

  • Work with Crescendo/Campus Director to plan, prepare and coordinate all monthly and annual events including:
  • Annual Recitals
  • Musical Theatre Camps (annually)

Academy Communications

  • Implement the Crescendo communications plan.
  • Prepare and distribute Crescendo enrollment packages.
  • Print, display and distribute flyers, posters, and Corps literature for all Torrance Corps programs and services.

Hunt Recording Studio

  • Greet studio guests.
  • Provide administrative support to studio staff as needed.

Working Conditions

Ability to walk, stand, bend squat climb, kneel and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis. Ability to be able to lift up to 50lbs. Ability to grasp, push, and pull objects such as file cabinet drawers and reach overhead. Ability to operate computer, fax and telephone.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years’ experience in similar field
  • Minimum of two years’ experience with administrative role.
  • Minimum of High School diploma or equivalent.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

  • Basic knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Able to problem solve effectively.
