Aquatech has an immediate need for a full-time Manager of Project Accounting to work in our Canonsburg, PA office location. Senior project finance manager will report directly to the Corporate Controller and perform the duties described in the job description below. Project Accounting will own financial oversight of project portfolios, ensuring accurate revenue recognition (ASC 606), cost tracking, margin control, and forecast integrity across large-scale EPC/project contracts. 

This role acts as a bridge between operations, finance, and leadership, driving disciplined project accounting and proactive issue identification.

Job Description:

  • Oversee forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis across multiple projects and legal entities.
  • Lead the project accounting team of 2 to 3 people
  • Manage the North America project revenue and consolidate the global project revenue
  • Manage the revenue recognition on projects, based on ASC 606
  • Monitor committed vs. actual costs
  • Prepare and maintain Estimate at Completion (EAC) and cash flow forecasts and flag risks early. Perform variance analysis and identify cost risks and opportunities
  • Support earned value analysis (where applicable)
  • Track and evaluate financial impact of change order
  • Oversee project-related invoices, billing, and revenue recognition
  • Partner with operations to enforce cost controls, change order tracking, WIP and backlog integrity. 
  • Review underbilling and over billing status of projects
  • Ensure proper cost coding and financial accuracy
  • Review subcontractor invoices and accruals
  • Reconcile project accounts monthly
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP/IFRS and company policies
  • Own the monthly close deliverable for project accounting. Revenue recognition entries, cost accruals and project margin analysis. Prepare monthly financial reporting packages
  • Present cost forecasts and financial updates to project leadership
  • Support margin analysis and financial performance reviews
  • Support the external auditors on project accounting matters. 
  • Any other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications / Experience:

  • Must have a bachelor’s degree with relevant experience. 
  • CPA is preferred
  • Experience with multi-entity, international project environments is preferred
  • 5+ years of work experience in project accounting and/or cost control
  • Experience in construction, EPC, manufacturing, or capital projects preferred
  • Strong understanding of revenue recognition per ASC 606 and project financial lifecycle and controls
  • Advanced Excel skills is required
  • ERP experience (SAP, Oracle, Viewpoint, etc.) preferred
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Must have a bachelor’s degree with relevant experience.
