Job description

About the role:Power Plant Operators are responsible for the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of power generation facilities. Duties include starting, stopping, and monitoring equipment, reading gauges and meters, recording operating logs, and making adjustments within set parameters. Operators also perform maintenance, repairs, and system improvements, assist in developing standard operating procedures, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. This position is located in Middletown, CA and is an onsite role. This is a full-time position. This person reports to the Account Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • **Operation & Monitoring: **Start, stop, and monitor turbines, generators, and auxiliary systems; record activities in logs; use computerized monitoring systems to adjust and maintain operating parameters
  • **Maintenance & Repair: **Diagnose, maintain, and repair mechanical and electrical equipment; perform overhaul maintenance and system improvements
  • **Chemical Control: **Conduct chemical analysis and control on steam, cooling, and condensate systems; maintain chemistry logs
  • **Compliance: **Follow all safety, environmental, and regulatory procedures; maintain plant security
  • **Equipment Handling: **Operate heavy equipment (manlifts, forklifts) and handle/transfer bulk chemicals
  • **Process Improvement: **Provide input to plant betterment projects to enhance efficiency, reliability, and safety

Qualifications:

  • Mechanical/electrical systems repair experience
  • Industrial equipment repairs
  • Technical decision-making authority
  • Combined Cycle Experience
