Gencor Industries, Inc. is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support the design and execution of electrical systems for hot mix asphalt plant equipment. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who takes ownership of projects, thrives in a collaborative environment, and brings strong automation and controls expertise. MUST BE LOCAL WITHIN THE ORLANDO AREA OR WITHIN A 50 MILE RADIUS. NO RELOCATION.


Key Responsibilities:

• Design and integrate electrical systems and controls for asphalt plant operations

• Develop schematics for digital and analog control systems

• Create production Bills of Materials (BOMs) and detailed wiring diagrams using Draftsight

• Select, specify, and test components including PLCs, HMIs, and temperature/limit controllers

• Manage projects from design through production, ensuring timelines and milestones are met

• Provide technical guidance to designers and drafters

• Partner with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, sales, and customer service

• Ensure compliance with safety standards and quality requirements


Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field

• 2+ years of electrical design experience (preferred)

• 1+ years of industrial automation or controls design experience (preferred)

• Hands-on experience with PLC programming

• Experience with Rockwell Automation products preferred

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills

• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

• Effective communicator with strong organizational skills

• Self-starter with a high level of accountability

• Ability to travel as needed

• Must be authorized to work in the United States


Additional Requirements:

• Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents

• Ability to communicate clearly in both written and verbal formats

• Ability to occasionally stand, walk, bend, and work in an industrial environment
