Job description

SUMMARY
The International Specialist supports the US distribution center staff and International Network Team managing the day-to-day operations and assuring high quality standards for our international mail and parcel flows while working closely with our internal and external partners to ensure a seamless operation, quick issue resolution and excellent customer experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Support day-to-day operations

  • Monitor packages along the delivery chain (terminal handling, transport, customs clearance and delivery) and ensure a seamless operation
  • Develop and propose solutions to DHL DC staff to timely resolve any issues causing disruptions to production or impacting the customer experience
  • Escalate systemic issues to International Network Team
  • Assure shipping preparation is compliant and in line with our vendors' specifications and requirements
  • Keep Customer Service and Sales aware of any out-of-specification activity
  • Daily communication with International Network Team and Transportation Export Team
  • Daily communication with external vendors (airlines, customs brokers and delivery partners) to resolve network issues

Report on performance & profitability

  • Collect data from operational systems; compile into a standard reports on service and cost
  • Provide reports and analysis on trade lane performance to the International Network Team and other internal stakeholders (such as Finance, Product Management, Sales)
  • Build ad hoc reports to support resolution of systemic issues
  • Provide data for cost accruals to Finance each month
  • Create Standard Operation Procedures, training material for Customer Service and other documentation

REQUIREMENTS / SKILLS

  • Excellent analytical and trouble shooting skills
  • Proficient in MS Office suite, with strong emphasis on Excel
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent organizational abilities, self-starter with excellent time management and the ability to adapt to rapid changes in the environment

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Associate's degree or equivalent years of relevant experience in an International Business, Business Analytics or distribution center operations environment

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Physical demands are consistent with a warehouse environment where frequently this position will be exposed to cold, hot and changing temperatures; will constantly experience noise at medium level not damaging or loud enough to require protective equipment; will frequently be exposed to dust, dirt and changes in lighting
  • Physical demands also consistent to an office setting
  • Frequently walk throughout the distribution center to monitor process
  • From time to time it may be required to perform light work at the DC so light lifting may be required <25 pounds.

Salary Range: $64,350 - $75,800.
