Overview:
The General Manager - International Business is responsible for developing and expanding the presence of Boar's Head Brand products in international markets outside the United States. This role leads the company's international commercial strategy and works closely with importers, distributors, manufacturers and key retail and foodservice partners to drive sustainable growth.
The international business currently operates through select strategic partnerships and requires a leader who can continue building the foundation for long-term expansion. The GM will play a critical role in strengthening existing partnerships, identifying new market opportunities, and navigating the operational complexities associated with bringing premium perishable food products to market.
This position requires a highly relationship-oriented and entrepreneurial leader capable of operating effectively in environments where processes, infrastructure, and systems continue to evolve. Multi-lingual language skills are integral to the success of this individual and willing to travel abroad.
Job Description:
Essential Functions
International Market Development
  • Lead the strategy and execution of international market expansion for Boar's Head products.
  • Identify and evaluate new market opportunities in regions where demand for premium deli products is growing.
  • Develop and implement growth plans with international importers, distributors, manufacturers and retail partners.

Strategic Relationship Management
  • Maintain and strengthen long-term relationships with key international retail and foodservice partners.
  • Serve as the primary commercial representative of the Boar's Head brand in international markets.
  • Build trusted partnerships with stakeholders at executive, operational, and store levels to support long-term brand growth.

Export & Operational Coordination
  • Collaborate with internal supply chain, regulatory, and quality teams to support export activities.
  • Navigate complexities related to product shelf life, labeling requirements, and cold-chain logistics.
  • Ensure international partners can successfully operate within current operational capabilities while identifying opportunities for future improvements.

Channel Development
  • Support the development of both retail and foodservice channels in international markets.
  • Guide product assortment, merchandising, and brand presentation to maintain Boar's Head premium positioning.

Business Structure & Process Development
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of scalable processes to support the company's international operations.
  • Implement performance metrics and reporting frameworks to track international business growth.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in international business development within the food, consumer packaged goods, or related industries.
  • Strong understanding of retail and foodservice channels, particularly in import-based markets.
  • Demonstrated success managing distributor and importer relationships internationally.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (required).
  • Experience working with perishable food products and cold-chain distribution strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with Caribbean, Central American, or Latin American markets is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written communication; and presentation skills. Ability to speak effectively with groups of customers and employees of the organization.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, presentation skills and ability to interpret information from original data sources to create effective presentations.
  • Ability to foster an environment of trust and respect.
  • Ability to work self-directed and to motivate and or lead a team of international agents/organizers
  • Computer literate: all aspects of MS Office, Salesforce and/or CRM database experience

Working Conditions
  • Ability to travel 70% of the time internationally to identify prospects, meet with clients, and stay abreast of market conditions.
