Job description

Position Description: Lead Youth Program Assistant

The Lead Youth Program Assistant will support the daily operations of Foundation Communitiesโ€™ afterschool and summer youth programs by leading activities and guiding youth in education-centered programming, including homework/academic assistance, reading, fitness, and enrichment. In addition to engaging directly with students, the Lead Youth Program Assistant will provide support and direction to Youth Program Assistants, help coordinate daily schedules, and serve as a point of contact for program staff and families as needed. Responsibilities will be carried out primarily in-person, with virtual programming if necessary.

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework or relevant experience in youth development, education, or a related field preferred

  • Previous experience working with youth in a structured program or educational setting

  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to guide and support staff and volunteers

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States and able to pass a criminal background check with fingerprinting

  • Reliable transportation to travel to other Foundation Communities sites as necessary

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily academic, enrichment, and recreational activities for youth

  • Provide homework and academic assistance with a focus on literacy, math, and overall academic growth

  • Support and mentor Youth Program Assistants and volunteers to ensure program quality and consistency

  • Assist with daily program coordination, including activity planning, classroom management, and behavior support

  • Communicate with program staff and families to support student success

  • Help maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive program environment for all participants

  • Model Foundation Communitiesโ€™ values of equity, respect, and collaboration

Work Schedule

  • School Year: Monday through Friday, 2:00 PM โ€“ 6:15 PM (may vary based on program needs)

  • Summer: Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM โ€“ 3:00 PM (may vary based on program needs)

Compensation
$21.65/hour
