Our client, a well-established and growing global manufacturing organization, is seeking an experienced Global Controller to lead its worldwide accounting and financial reporting function. This is a highly visible leadership role reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer and offers the opportunity to influence financial strategy while building and developing a high-performing global accounting team.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting leader with strong technical expertise, experience managing global financial operations, and a passion for driving process improvements in a fast-paced, international environment.

OVERVIEW OF THE GLOBAL CONTROLLER ROLE:

  • Lead the global accounting function, including month-end and year-end close, consolidations, financial statement preparation, and oversight of core accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit, and sales tax.
  • Develop, mentor, and lead a high-performing accounting team while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as the organization's technical accounting expert, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and, where applicable, IFRS.
  • Lead annual external audits and strengthen internal controls across domestic and international operations.
  • Drive process improvements, standardization, automation, and scalable accounting practices across global entities.
  • Partner with leadership to improve working capital performance and optimize the cash conversion cycle.
  • Oversee cost accounting, inventory accounting, and management reporting, including WIP, COGS, overhead allocations, inventory controls, and variance analysis.
  • Support strategic initiatives including budgeting, forecasting, mergers and acquisitions, due diligence, and post-acquisition integration.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operational leaders to improve financial visibility and support business growth.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional certification.
  • 12+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience with recent Controller or Corporate Controller leadership experience.
  • Experience leading global accounting operations, financial consolidations, and month-end close processes.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge with expertise in U.S. GAAP.
  • Proven success leading and developing accounting teams.
  • Experience improving financial processes, systems, and internal controls within a complex or growing organization.
  • Ability to travel internationally as business needs require.
