Job Description We are seeking a Software Engineer III, AI/ML to join our dynamic team supporting Fundamental AI Research (FAIR) organization. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in multimodal large language models, data engineering for AI, and evaluation platforms and a proven ability to design datasets, run frontier model evaluations, and ship reliable internal tools that translate research into product impact. Responsibilities: Design human- and model-based datasets for training and evaluating multimodal LLMs across image, video, audio, and text.

Run frontier model evaluations and implement common metrics to assess performance and safety. Leverage MLLMs to bootstrap, augment, and rebalance datasets at scale. Fine-tune models on labeled datasets and validate results for reproducibility.

Build and ship annotation task UIs and data-heavy internal tools using React and TypeScript. Develop and operate secure data ingestion pipelines from warehouses, warm storage, and flat files. Required Skills & Qualifications: Proficiency with Python for ML workflows and data processing, including PyTorch or similar frameworks.

Experience building datasets and evaluation suites for multimodal models. Hands-on experience with fine-tuning, inference, and metrics implementation for LLMs or MLLMs. Front-end development skills with React and TypeScript for annotation and internal tooling.

Data engineering skills for secure, large-scale ingestion from warehouses and file-based sources. Strong analytical problem-solving abilities and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams. Experience level: 5+ years in software engineering or applied ML roles, or equivalent project experience.

Preferred Skills: Experience with large-scale data platforms and orchestration tools. Background in evaluation methodology, benchmark design, and reliability engineering. Why BCforward?
