Job description

Maximize customer satisfaction and contribution margins by consistently and accurately processing of orders, requests for price and delivery information, returns, order status, order expedites and product literature; as well as the ability to orchestrate internal resources to meet customer needs.
Experience, Education and Skills
  • Two years of industrial repair and/or industrial distribution experience.  
  • 2+ years of customer service experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment. 
  • Proficient with software programs relating to the customer service position, including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, E-mail and vendor pricing programs.
  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills as well as strong problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrate ability to identify, from existing orders, incremental selling opportunities within current customers and to communicate and work with outside sales to win new business.
Essential Functions
  • Approach: process in bound customer calls from customers regarding order status, pricing, product availability and delivery schedules.  
  • Customer Knowledge: develop knowledge of assigned customer's specifically basic understanding of the buying process for OEM and MRO customer base.
  • Internal Know-How: demonstrate basic understanding of SunSource's customer procedures and tools and be able to process orders, quotes, returns, navigate the pricing system, interpret pricing structure, and utilize internal support systems.
  • Resource Management: demonstrate the required ability to orchestrate resources to meet customer needs which include technical support, warehousing, finance, service and fabrication centers and purchasing.
  • Technical Competence: demonstrate basic knowledge of SunSource technology and service offerings.
