Job description

IntroductionBe part of the team that drives our company forward, transforming ideas into real-world tools and platforms that support the business and spur innovation.

Overview

We are seeking an experienced IT Support Specialist to join a well-established nonprofit organization serving the senior healthcare community in Detroit. This is an excellent opportunity for a customer-focused IT professional who enjoys supporting end users in a collaborative environment while making a meaningful impact. You'll provide day-to-day technical support for approximately 150 users, helping maintain business continuity during a period of increased IT demand.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for end-user technical support requests.
  • Troubleshoot Windows 10/11 desktops, laptops, hardware, printers, scanners, and mobile devices.
  • Support Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint.
  • Prepare, image, configure, and deploy laptops, desktops, and mobile devices.
  • Perform onboarding and offboarding tasks, including user account administration and password resets.
  • Assist with Microsoft 365 administration, mailbox access, and group memberships.
  • Coordinate hardware repairs with vendors and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Follow security best practices and support compliance within a HIPAA-regulated environment.
  • Escalate complex technical issues when appropriate and maintain thorough documentation of support activities.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of IT Support, Help Desk, or Desktop Support experience.
  • Experience supporting Windows 10/11 environments.
  • Strong Microsoft 365 troubleshooting experience.
  • Excellent hardware and software troubleshooting skills.
  • Security-minded approach with cybersecurity awareness.
  • Outstanding customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active Directory and/or Microsoft Entra ID experience.
  • Exchange Online administration.
  • Basic networking knowledge.
  • Experience supporting a HIPAA-regulated environment.
  • PowerShell familiarity.

Additional Information
  • 100% onsite in Detroit, MI.
  • Standard business hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM.
  • Very minimal local travel, if any.
  • Occasional laptop deployments requiring lifting of equipment up to 20 lbs.
  • Contract position expected to begin ASAP with a strong possibility of extension based on business needs.

This role is ideal for an IT professional who enjoys providing hands-on technical support, thrives in a service-oriented environment, and wants to contribute to an organization that supports older adults and the surrounding community.

Because of the possibility for fraudulent job postings on many popular job boards, please be advised that Connection will never offer a position of employment without a complete interview process and communication with a “live person."
