Going into our 9th year as an organization, the Orlando Pirates have made multiple title game appearances and won the IFL Championship in 2021. The Orlando Pirates play during the spring/summer and are looking to add Video Editor Interns in our quest for another championship.
Position Overview:
The Orlando Pirates are looking for a creative and motivated Video Editor to help create video content for the Pirates' digital and social media platforms. In this role, you'll edit original, engaging stories that bring fans closer to the team, players, coaches, and game-day experience while helping grow the Orlando Pirates brand.
The ideal candidate has a strong interest in video editing and storytelling, a good understanding of current social media trends, and an eye for creating content that works across different platforms. You'll work closely with the marketing and creative team to capture and edit content from games, practices, community events, and team activities. This role is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in sports media and help showcase the energy, personality, and excitement of Orlando Pirates.
Responsibilities:
  • Work with the Orlando Pirates marketing and creative team to develop and produce a variety of video content throughout the season.
  • Edit videos for TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, X, and other platforms, creating content that fits each platform and keeps fans engaged.
  • Edit footage from home and away games, practices, community events, player features, interviews, and other team activities.
  • Use editing to tell engaging stories that capture the energy, personality, and excitement of the Orlando Pirates.
  • Create both short-form social content and longer-form video projects, depending on the needs of the team.
  • Stay up to date with video editing styles, social media trends, and platform best practices.
  • Be available on game days to assist with editing and post-production needs.
  • Work as a team player and help with different creative projects and responsibilities as needed.
  • Work with the marketing team to brainstorm and pitch new video ideas that support campaigns, promotions, and fan engagement.
  • Help organize, label, and manage video footage and project files with strong attention to detail.
  • Assist with other video, content, and creative projects throughout the season, including travel when needed.

Skills and Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in video editing preferred
  • Experience working in Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or comparable professional video editing software. Experience with Adobe After Effects is a plus.
  • Proficient in editing footage from professional cinema cameras.
  • Understanding of narrative structure, pacing, music selection, and sound design.
  • Must have excellent attention to detail.
  • Be proactive and think creatively. Bring a willingness to finish the job under deadline pressure and work in a fast-paced environment while handling multiple projects.
  • Experience creating high-energy, hype-driven edits for in-stadium game presentation and social platforms.
  • Maintain a professional and positive representation of the organization when interacting with players, coaches, sponsors, and fans.
  • Must be willing and able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the team schedule.
  • Must possess reliable transportation to and from practices, games, and team events.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
