Job description

The Clinical Systems Analyst/Revenue Cycle Billing Analyst will effectively manage, optimize, and support the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system (Oracle Health/Cerner), along with a range of clinical systems.
Hours: Monday through Friday, between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., with occasional evening or weekend hours based on project needs and system implementations. This position also participates in an on-call support rotation. This is a primarily remote position with occasional onsite meetings or project work in St. Paul, MN, and travel within the Twin Cities metro area as needed.
The selected candidate must reside in Minnesota or Wisconsin at the time of hire. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
Compensation & Benefits
The annual salary range for this opportunity is $92,497 to $138,736, with a median salary of $115,616/annually. Pay is dependent on several factors including relevant work experience and internal equity. Salary is just one component of the compensation package for employees. Primary Job Responsibilities
The Clinical Systems Analyst partners with Revenue Cycle, Patient Accounting, Charge Services, Finance, and other operational teams to optimize, enhance, and support Gillette's Electronic Health Record (EHR). This role has a particular focus on Oracle Health/Cerner Patient Accounting and Revenue Cycle functionality, including charges, coding, patient accounting, finance audits, and related workflows.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Maintaining and supporting Revenue Cycle and Patient Accounting functionality within Oracle Health/Cerner, including troubleshooting break/fix tickets, managing annual upgrades, and building system enhancements.
  • Partnering closely with Revenue Cycle, Patient Accounting, Charge Services, Finance, and other stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into effective system solutions.
  • Evaluating existing systems, workflows, and processes to identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and the end-user experience.
  • Configuring and building within Oracle Health/Cerner to support revenue cycle, patient accounting, charging, coding, documentation, and other operational workflows.
  • Gathering requirements from end users and stakeholders and translating business needs into system specifications, enhancements, and workflow designs.
  • Troubleshooting application issues and providing responsive support to end users while collaborating with IS teams and vendors to resolve more complex technical issues.
  • Supporting system implementations, upgrades, testing, maintenance, and enhancement projects while serving as a liaison between operational teams, technical teams, and vendors.
  • Analyzing system data and reports to identify trends, support financial and operational audits, and uncover opportunities for process improvement.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation of system configurations, workflows, enhancements, user guides, and standard operating procedures.
  • Staying current on Oracle Health/Cerner capabilities, healthcare technology, and emerging solutions to continually improve Revenue Cycle and Patient Accounting systems.

Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, MIS, Business Administration, Information Technology, or 4 years of experience.
  • Experience with clinical information systems.
  • Proficiency in system implementation, support, and maintenance within a clinical environment.
  • Experience with documentation and version control of system configurations, user guides, and standard operating procedures.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Systems Analyst or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of clinical, scheduling, and charges workflows in a healthcare setting
  • Understanding of software integrations.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Strong clinical background in healthcare IT, clinical system implementation, and end-user support.
  • Strong understanding of clinical workflows and healthcare operations.
  • Knowledge of healthcare IS standards and regulations such as HIPAA, Meaningful Use, and CMS regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve system issues promptly.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Proven experience in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems, or products.

Preferred
  • MBA, MHA or related master's degree.
  • Experience with solution-based thinking and relating to business specific needs.
  • Familiarity of Oracle Health CCL (Cerner Command Language) (modified SQL) for queries, work queues, and Millennium Reporting tools.
  • Previous experience working in a hospital setting.
  • Have a basic understanding of HL7 and API transactions related to system integration.
  • Certification(s) in Oracle Health Millennium solutions.
