The pay range is $88,000.00 - $158,000.00

The Operations Strategy, Innovation, and Analytics & Insights team drives enterprise-wide capabilities that improve the speed, reliability, efficiency, and scalability of Target's end-to-end business operations. We identify opportunities, develop strategies, and lead cross-functional programs that enable operational excellence and unlock future growth.

As a Senior Operations Analyst, you will support key Target initiatives by transforming operational data into actionable insights that improve business performance, system execution, and outcomes across Target's Stores, Supply Chain, and broader Operations network.

You will be responsible for analyzing large and complex datasets, identifying trends and opportunities, building recurring reporting or dashboards, and translating findings into clear recommendations for business partners and senior leadership. You will support ongoing business strategy changes by helping teams understand performance, diagnose root causes, evaluate process or system impacts, and measure the value and effectiveness of operational changes.

In this role, you will build subject matter expertise in the business processes, systems, and data that support Target's operations. You will partner across teams to gather requirements, validate data, document assumptions, communicate risks, and ensure analytical outputs are accurate, relevant, and actionable. You will be expected to challenge assumptions with data, encourage open discussion of insights and tradeoffs, and help partners align on priorities and next steps.

You will bring curiosity, analytical rigor, and a strong sense of ownership to ambiguous business problems. You will manage multiple priorities, support peak business activities, and help teams respond quickly to emerging issues or opportunities. Your work will help business and technical partners make better decisions, improve execution, and deliver measurable outcomes.

About you:

  • Four-year college degree or equivalent experience

  • 2+ years of experience in data analysis, business analysis, operations analysis, or a related analytical role

  • Familiarity with SQL and experience using large datasets to identify trends, diagnose issues, and develop actionable insights

  • Experience building reports, dashboards, scorecards, or recurring measurement routines using BI or data visualization tools

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate ambiguous business questions into clear recommendations

  • Ability to communicate findings clearly to business, technology, and operational partners

  • Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities and drive results with limited direction

  • Familiarity with retail operations, supply chain, inventory management, product availability, or related business domains

  • Familiarity with Python, R, or statistical methodologies used to measure business performance, evaluate initiatives, or support data-driven decision-making


This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target's needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member's core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
