Program Director
Sheepgate Men's Center - Colfax, IA
About the Role
Sheepgate Men's Center is seeking a mission-driven Program Director to lead the day-to-day operations of our residential program in Colfax. This role is more than management-it is an opportunity to walk alongside men pursuing freedom from addiction and help create a structured, Christ-centered environment where lasting transformation can take place.
The Program Director provides leadership and supervision to interns and student affairs staff; oversees systems and processes related to student care, accountability, and program operations; and ensures the program consistently reflects excellence, clarity, and compassion. This role plays a vital part in shaping culture, developing leaders, and faithfully stewarding the mission of Sheepgate.
This position includes on-site family housing as part of the compensation package. Living on campus, along with other members of the staff team and families,provides leadership presence and program continuity while supporting meaningful relational engagement.
The role operates within defined work hours and established on-call structures. Clear boundaries and scheduled time off are in place to ensure healthy work-life balance and shared staffing responsibility.
What You'll Do
Lead & Support Students
  • Provide oversight and guidance for the management of student issues, concerns, and incidents, ensuring responses are consistent, appropriate, and aligned with program standards.
  • Oversee student assessments and the development of individualized action plans to support ongoing growth and measurable progress.
  • Provide leadership and direction to student mentoring efforts, ensuring alignment with program expectations and organizational goals.
  • Oversee student schedules to ensure structure, consistency, and accountability.
  • Ensure student records are complete and maintained in accordance with accreditation standards.
  • Lead classes and chapel services as assigned.
Develop Interns
  • Oversee and develop the intern program at the Colfax Center.
  • Facilitate regular intern meetings focused on accountability, leadership development, and growth.
  • Provide training opportunities that equip interns for future ministry and leadership roles.
Lead & Equip Staff
  • Supervise and manage staff members who work directly with students.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for staffing needs, performance concerns, and scheduling.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews and support ongoing staff development.
  • Create staff schedules that support both people and program needs.
Steward Resources & Culture
  • Oversee proper tracking of student budgets and financial records.
  • Support fundraising efforts as assigned.
  • Uphold and model the relational, Christ-centered culture of Sheepgate.
  • Collaborate with other Teen Challenge of the Midlands centers to promote unity and shared mission.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least five (5) years of relevant leadership experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certifications
  • First Aid and CPR certification required (or willingness to obtain).

  • A heart for discipleship, leadership development, and structured ministry.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
