Job description

Internship Title: Applications Engineering Intern
Team: Applications Engineering
Role Description:
The intern will support the Applications engineering team with hands-on board-level testing, debugging, and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) validation activities. This role provides practical exposure to power electronics behavior, signal integrity, and compliance-related testing under the guidance of experienced engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with DER board power-up, testing, and debugging
  • Capture and analyze electrical waveforms using lab instruments such as oscilloscopes and probes
  • Support surge testing activities, including test setup preparation, execution observation, and result documentation
  • Assist with EMC testing, including radiated and conducted emissions pre-compliance testing
  • Support ESD testing setup and evaluation to assess board-level robustness
  • Help identify anomalies in test results and support root-cause investigation under supervision
  • Document test procedures, results, and observations for internal reference and training materials
Expected Learning Outcomes:
  • Practical understanding of power electronics board behavior and integration challenges
  • Hands-on experience with waveform measurement and interpretation
  • Exposure to surge, EMC, and ESD test standards and setups
  • Improved troubleshooting and debugging skills in a lab environment
