Job description

Electrical Consultants, Inc. (ECI), a leading power engineering consultant firm, is seeking motivated individuals to join our team as drafter intern. The successful candidate will be trained and taught electrical and physical drafting and design work for electrical substations and renewable energy projects.


The successful candidate will perform drafting in AutoCAD related to electrical substations and renewable energy facilities, and other duties as determined by management staff. The drafter intern position will involve working in the office while attending school to achieve AutoCAD certification. It is anticipated that this internship will be 12-24 hours per week depending on individual’s availability. This position has the potential to lead to full-time employment upon successful completion of the internship and school.


Minimum Requirements: Pursuing an associates degree in drafting technology or equivalent degree; training and experience in drafting using AutoCAD required. The successful candidate must be results oriented and capable of completing design assignments with direction and must be effective in a team environment with strong interpersonal skills. The successful applicant may be subject to client mandated drug and background checking. The successful applicant is subject to ECI’s auto insurance carrier requirements. Applicants must not require sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B visa status) now or in the future.
