How your role will add to the story:
We are seeking an IAM Solution Expert for Entra ID to join our Global Cyber Security team. The team focuses on consolidating the Identity and Access Governance ecosystem and delivering secure, scalable IAM services for internal and external users, while driving automation and innovation. You will shape the future IAM landscape at Mercedes-Benz by designing secure integration and governance models for application and non-human identities in Microsoft Entra (formerly Azure AD). We look forward to your application.

A day in the life 

  • Define and refine requirements for application onboarding, lifecycle automation, and configuration/consent management within the IAM toolset.
  • Design and standardize integration patterns using Microsoft Entra ID (SSO, federation, workload identities).
    Establish and govern application onboarding standards, including ownership, authorization models, and integration types (interactive vs. app-only).
  • Automate lifecycle management for applications, agents, and service principals.
  • Define and enforce configuration and consent governance, including API permissions, approvals, and leastprivilege access.
  • Collaborate with platform, security, and development teams to ensure consistent and reusable integration approaches.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to non-human identities, such as overprivileged access, missing ownership, or unmanaged credentials.
  • Contribute to the implementation of Zero Trust principles, with identity as the primary control plane.
  • Shaping the future of AI agent identities, workload identities, and autonomous access governance within Microsoft Entra ID.
  • Support governance reviews, operational improvements, and continuous enhancement of the IAM landscape.

Mercedes-Benz Star skills, requirements & traits:

  • BA/BS or MS degree in Computer Science or 5 years of industry experience (required).
  • Strong working knowledge and 5 years of experience in IAM architecture, with focus on Identity Providers like Microsoft Entra ID (required).
  • Strong knowledge of application integration standards: OAuth2 / OpenID Connect; SAML federation; API permission governance (required).
  • Deep expertise in non-human identities / workload identities (application registrations, service principals, managed identities).
  • Proven ability to define target architectures and integration standards for enterprise IAM environments.
  • Strong requirements for engineering skills, particularly in automation and governance frameworks.
  • Experience designing lifecycle automation beyond Entra provisioning, using enterprise toolsets.
  • Experience integrating enterprise platforms and toolchains, e.g. workflow engines, ServiceNow, CI/CD. 
  • Solid understanding of Zero Trust architecture, including identity-based access and least privilege principles.
  • Experience working in DevOps and agile environments (SCRUM).
  • Ability to take ownership of features or architectural domains.
  • Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure, facilitate discussions, support decision-making, and resolve conflicts (required).
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with and effectively respond to diverse stakeholders (required).
  • Fluent in English; German is a plus.
