Summary

The Systems Administrator supports the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and reliability of USIC's enterprise infrastructure environment. This role is responsible for executing core administrative tasks across servers, cloud environments, and end-user systems while partnering with senior engineers, cybersecurity, and application teams.

This is a hands-on, execution-focused role ideal for someone looking to grow within an enterprise IT environment while contributing to systems that directly support business operations.


This position will report to the Sr. Director, Corporate Systems & Infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • System Maintenance: Installing, patching, and upgrading server operating systems (Windows/Linux) and software applications.
  • User Support & Administration: Creating, maintaining, and removing user accounts, permissions, and security groups in Active Directory or Azure AD.
  • Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Monitoring system logs, performance metrics, and network connectivity to ensure uptime.
  • Backup & Security: Executing scheduled data backups, verifying data integrity, and performing restores when needed.
  • Respond to and resolve infrastructure-related tickets and incidents
  • Supporting and collaborating with senior engineers

Skills and Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in IT support or systems administration
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field
  • Experience working in a ticketing system (Zendesk, Jira, etc.)
  • Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to inexperienced users
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to solve problems in stressful situations
