Description
About Us
In loving obedience to James 1:27, we serve in under-resourced communities by helping kids grow, teens lead, and neighbors thrive together.
Why This Role Matters
Mission 1:27 has built strong pathways for children and middle school students to grow, belong, and lead. The 3:17 Program serves as the bridge into adulthood, helping high school students discover their God-given purpose and develop the faith, character, and skills needed to thrive.
As students approach graduation, they face important decisions about work, college, trade school, military service, finances, and their future. Through discipleship, mentoring, leadership development, and real-world work experiences, this role provides the guidance, accountability, and encouragement students need during one of the most formative seasons of their lives.
Through individualized coaching, family engagement, and internship coordination, the Director of 3:17 Student Success (Director of High School Student Success) helps students turn potential into purpose - equipping them to become Christ-centered leaders who are prepared to make an impact in their communities, workplaces, and beyond.
The Impact You'll Make
As the 3:17 Director of Student Success, you will help transform a good internship program into a life-changing leadership and career development pipeline.
- Help students connect their faith to everyday life and future vocational calling.
- Equip students to become Christ-centered leaders who influence their schools, workplaces, churches, and communities.
- Build meaningful relationships with high school students during one of the most formative seasons of their lives.
- Help students identify goals, discover strengths, and develop plans for their future.
- Coordinate internship experiences that provide real-world job skills and workplace readiness.
- Support students academically, professionally, and personally through individualized coaching and accountability.
- Connect students with opportunities for leadership, service, career exploration, and personal growth.
- Partner with families to create a strong support system around each student.
- Equip students to graduate with greater confidence, responsibility, direction, and preparedness for adulthood.
- Strengthen the long-term impact of Mission 1:27 by developing future leaders who will influence their communities for years to come.
What a Win Looks Like
- Success in this role is measured by transformed lives, not simply program participation.
- Every 3:17 participant has a documented growth plan and receives regular one-on-one coaching.
- Students demonstrate growth in leadership, responsibility, workplace readiness, and life skills.
- Students demonstrate growth in spiritual maturity and biblical understanding.
- Students understand their God-given gifts, purpose, and vocational calling.
- Internship experiences are structured, consistent, and meaningful.
- Students successfully complete internships with positive evaluations from supervisors.
- Families are engaged and supportive of student goals and development.
- Students have clear post-secondary plans that may include college, trade school, military service, employment, ministry, or other vocational pathways.
- Program data and outcomes are tracked consistently and accurately.
- Students engage with Mission 1:27 through high school and transition successfully into adulthood.
Ultimately, success looks like students who know who they are, understand where they are headed, and possess the skills, character, faith, and confidence to pursue their future with purpose.
Requirements
What You Bring
The ideal candidate is equal parts mentor, coach, coordinator, and advocate. You are someone who genuinely enjoys teenagers and believes in their potential. You can build trust with students while also providing accountability, structure, and encouragement.
- A passion for helping young people succeed.
- A growing and authentic relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Ability to connect biblical truth to real-life situations and future career pathways.
- Passion for helping students discover God's purpose for their lives.
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
- The ability to connect with students from diverse backgrounds.
- Experience in mentoring, education, workforce development, youth development, student support services, counseling, coaching, ministry, or related fields.
- Exceptional organizational and administrative skills.
- Confidence managing multiple students, priorities, and partnerships simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
- Comfort navigating conversations with students, parents, employers, and community partners.
- A heart for discipleship, leadership development, and personal growth.
- Alignment with Mission 1:27's mission, values, and Christian faith foundation.
