Quality Specialist Details

Essential Job Duties:

  • Demonstrates a good working knowledge of PI tools and methods.
  • Teaches process improvement theory, tools and techniques to others within the healthcare system.
  • Demonstrates a good working knowledge of standards and regulations (i.e. HFAP, ISDH) that must be met and incorporates those into work processes.
  • Demonstrates the understanding of statistical process control through the display of data in the appropriate format and the accurate assessment of that information.
  • Works with members of the Medical and Dental staff as well as UH Managers to analyze and identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Coordinates orientation for newly assigned committee members of assigned medical staff meetings.
  • Efficiently coordinates assigned medical staff department meetings in coordination with chairperson of that committee.
  • Coordinates creation of annual report agenda and monthly agendas, maintains oversight of minutes, assists in packet preparation for assigned medical staff department meetings.

Qualifications:

  • RN with a current license and Bachelors required.
  • Minimum of one year clinical experience in an inpatient or outpatient setting required.
  • Minimum of one year experience with a physician office practice
  • Must understand or be able to quickly learn quality theory and processes
  • Must be able to accommodate a flexible schedule
  • Knowledge of teaching methodologies preferred.

License/Certification:

  • Indiana RN license
