Job description

Description
The primary role of the Golf Junior Intern Program is to allow local students the opportunity to gain firsthand knowledge of operational procedures at one of the premier resort destinations in the world. The goal of the program is foster opportunities and exposure to students who are interested in the hospitality industry and potentially golf as a career. Junior Internship program will hire high school aged students (16-18) for a two-month period (June-July). A valid CA driver's license is preferred for employment. Interns selected for the program will work between 24-32 hours per week and can expect to learn/train and become proficient in some or all the duties listed below.

The Company also operates five renowned golf courses: Pebble Beach Golf Links, home of the 2027 U.S. Open, Spyglass Hill Golf Course, The Links at Spanish Bay, Del Monte Golf Course, and the Tiger Woods designed short course, The Hay.
Its other famed properties include scenic 17-Mile Drive, The Spa at Pebble Beach, Forbes Five-Star certified since 2014, Pebble Beach Golf Academy & Practice Facility, and a diverse offering of culinary and retail experiences. PBC annually hosts premier events such as the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, TaylorMade Pebble Beach Invitational, Pebble Beach Food & Wine and PURE Insurance Championship.
Potential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Accountability - Arrive on time and ready to work.
  • Anticipatory Service - Proactively greet each guest in a polite a courteous manner.
  • World Class Service - Offer to assist all guests with golf bags and related equipment.
  • Accountability - Maintain a clean area around the Clubhouse and Cart Barn.
  • Attention to Detail - Constantly patrol area looking for ways to assist guests.
  • Assist with first tee/podium duties as needed.
  • Count and clean rental sets, and clean shoes upon request.
  • Assist with driving range operations (where appropriate).
  • Assist with retail operations where appropriate.
  • Maintain control and organization of the rental club closet.
  • Assist in all aspects of golf cart usage. Including, staging (with valid CA driver's license), cleaning, charging, and checking for damage or safety issues.
  • Safety - Ensure the safe operation of all golf carts by checking brakes, steering and accelerator prior to rental and guest use (with valid CA driver's license).
  • Tag all carts with issues, taking them out of service until a mechanic conducts proper maintenance.
  • On course maintenance to include fixing & repairing ball marks, divots, and other general maintenance of the Hay and Practice Facilities.
  • Safety - Comply with all Pebble Beach Company safety and health policies and procedures. Working safely is a requirement of your employment with Pebble Beach Company.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Manager or Assistant Managers.

  • Familiarity of driving a golf cart (Valid CA driver's license required to drive golf carts).
  • CA driver's license (required to drive golf carts; not required for employment).
