Job description

At QDSS, we focus on solving complex problems that directly impact production, quality, and system performance.

If you thrive in hands-on, technical environments, you'll feel right at home here.

Quest Defense Systems & Solutions is seeking an Analog Design Engineer to support the analysis, design, simulation, testing, and validation of electronic circuit card assemblies (CCAs). This role focuses on analog, power electronics, and motor control circuitry used in complex engineering systems.

You will work throughout the hardware development lifecycle, performing circuit analysis, developing electrical schematics, conducting simulations, testing hardware, and documenting technical results. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in analog circuit design and enjoys solving challenging electrical engineering problems through both simulation and hands-on hardware testing.

This role is for 1st shift (7a - 4p)

This is a 100% onsite position based in Tucson, Arizona, where you'll enjoy the collaboration of working alongside your team every day. With more than 310 days of sunshine each year, stunning mountain views, and a vibrant yet relaxed lifestyle, Tucson offers an exceptional place to build both your career and your life.  All candidates must be U.S. citizens due to the nature of the work.  Clearance or the ability to obtain a clearance is strongly preferred unless otherwise stated below.

What You'll Do

  • Design and develop analog, power electronics, and motor control circuits for circuit card assemblies (CCAs).
  • Perform electrical analysis to validate circuit performance and identify design improvements.
  • Create and maintain electrical schematics using electronic design automation (EDA) tools.
  • Conduct circuit simulations to evaluate design performance before hardware fabrication.
  • Test and validate electronic hardware to ensure functional performance and design compliance.
  • Support PCB design activities, including schematic development and design reviews.
  • Document engineering analyses, simulation results, test results, and design decisions.
  • Troubleshoot hardware issues and recommend corrective design changes.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout product development.
  • Identify technical risks early and communicate recommendations for mitigation.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in analog hardware design.
  • Experience designing analog electronic circuits.
  • Experience with power electronics and/or motor control electronics.
  • Experience performing circuit simulation and electrical analysis.
  • Experience documenting engineering designs, analyses, and test results.
  • Experience with PCB design and schematic capture tools.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and validate electronic hardware.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using the Saber simulation and modeling tool.
  • Experience using Mentor Graphics schematic capture tools.
  • Experience designing complex circuit card assemblies (CCAs).
  • Experience supporting hardware through design, integration, and testing.
  • Familiarity with PCB layout design and manufacturing considerations.
  • Experience working in aerospace, defense, industrial automation, or other highly regulated engineering environments.

The QDSS Advantage:

At QDSS, our advantage is purpose-driven work, collaborative teams, and complex challenges that push boundaries and build lasting impact. You'll grow your career while contributing to mission-critical programs that demand excellence and shape the future.

What You'll Find Here

  • Work That Matters - Next-generation, safety- and mission-critical projects where your contributions have real-world impact.
  • Growth That's Supported - Competitive compensation, employer-matched 401(k), certification assistance, and clear opportunities for advancement.
  • A Culture That Works - A flexible, collaborative, and people-first environment where teamwork, innovation, and balance are valued.

Benefits Include

  • Competitive pay, comprehensive medical/dental/life and disability coverage, 401(k) with employer match, professional development support, and a flexible, friendly workplace.

This position may be filled at multiple levels depending on the candidate's experience and qualifications. Responsibilities and compensation will be aligned with the selected level.
