Job description

JOB SUMMARY
Seeking a seasoned Intermodal Dispatcher to assist our team in Houstonto address customer needs and inquiries to our Intermodal division. This candidate will be a self-motivated individual that is able to handle a fast-paced environment and make impactful decisions for our intermodal department. Intermodal experience is required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve drayage needs with timely execution of all import/export work orders.
Accurate data entry, with confirmation of all port, rail, and customer work order information.
Provide excellent, professional, and timely customer service whether handling customer inquiries, complaints, quotes, support in order maintenance processes.
Provide clerical support
Customer Data monitoring
Maintain open communication with customers and team to ensure all parties are clear in direction, ensure accurate information is being reported and billed accordingly.
Dispatch drivers daily and audit their run sheets.
Notify customers of freight and port availability, capacity, and other important information.
Will need to maintain knowledge of company services.
Plan driver schedule to ensure freight is delivered safely and on time.
Adhere to company policies and procedures.
Manage container emails.
Verify port availability.
Coordinate and manage the assignment, flow and execution of moves by ensuring utilization of assets.
Ensure safety, quality, and timeliness.
COMPETENCIES
1-2 years of experience in dispatching. Intermodal dispatch preferred
Must have prior experience working with port drivers and/ or maritime industry.
Must be reliable and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Must be able to prioritize workload and focus on service.
