What are Intermediate Architectural Designers?

Intermediate Architectural Designers are professionals in the architecture field who typically have several years of experience beyond entry-level positions. They are responsible for developing design concepts, creating drawings, coordinating with consultants, and assisting in project documentation. They often work under the supervision of senior architects but have more autonomy and responsibility than junior designers. Their role bridges the gap between junior staff and project architects, contributing both creatively and technically to architectural projects.

To thrive as an Intermediate Architectural Designer, you need a solid grounding in architectural design principles, building codes, and a relevant degree such as a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Architecture. Proficiency in technical tools like AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite, along with knowledge of BIM systems, is typically required. These abilities ensure you can translate concepts into functional designs that meet client needs and regulatory standards.
