Architectural Technical Designer
Location: Grand Rapids, MI
Employment Type: Full-Time
For over 70 years Fishbeck has been building. As a 100% employee-owned firm, every team member has a stake in what we build together-our work, our reputation, and our future. Now we need to add an Architectural Technical Designer to help us keep building.
Working with our Architectural team, you will assist project architects throughout the design, programming, and conceptual phases. You will also work alongside multidisciplinary professionals on ensuring design accuracy, as well as integration.
What You'll Do
  • Collaborate with the design team during programming and conceptual phases.
  • Support the project architect in preparing design development and construction documents.
  • Coordinate with in-house engineers and external consultants to ensure design integration and accuracy.
  • Assist the project architect with construction administration, including site observation, RFI review, and submittal processing.
What We're Looking For
  • Master of Architecture or Bachelor of Architecture from an accredited university is preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of architectural experience.
  • Actively pursuing AXP hours and architectural licensure.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, and Revit.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with excellent organization and attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and adaptable to changing priorities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and manage multiple deadlines.
