Our Bay Area Lifestyle Studio operates as a boutique practice within the firm, focusing on iconic hospitality and retail projects. As our diverse client base and project work continue to grow, we are seeking a Mid-Level Technical Designer with 5-10 years of experience to join our team.
Your Role
As a Mid-Level Gensler Technical Designer, you will have the opportunity to collaborate on retail and hospitality projects and grow with talented designers shaping the future of our built environments. You will work on all phases of design, crafting concepts, and coordinating our designs from construction documentation to construction administration. You are passionate about design, are interested in the details and have an appreciation for the nuances of furniture and finishes.
The ideal candidate combines strong critical thinking skills, technical capability, and a collaborative approach to ensure projects are delivered with design integrity, precision, and efficiency. In this role, you will continue to build on your strengths in design and technical coordination while building strength in client and consultant engagement. Your work ethic, combined with your commitment to collaboration and mentoring, makes Gensler's Lifestyle Studio the perfect place to nurture your career.
What You Will Do
  • Participate in all project phases, including conceptual designs, presentations, schematic design, design development, construction documents and production
  • Collaborate with design team, clients, consultants, contractors, fabricators, regulatory agencies and other vendors to meet overall project objectives
  • Produce graphic presentations, 3D renderings, and construction drawings

Your Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in interior design, architecture or foreign equivalent
  • 5-10 years of related project experience
  • Proficiency in Revit is required; Retail, Hospitality, and other experience-driven lifestyle environments
  • Proficiency in modeling using 2D/3D software, such as CAD, 3d Viz, 3ds MAX, and/or Rhino utilizing V-Ray is a plus
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and/or SketchUp is a plus
  • Knowledge of relevant building codes and accessibility requirements
  • State licensure and LEED accreditation a plus
  • Knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and parametric design software, including Grasshopper, a plus

**The base salary will be estimated between $84,000K- $108,000K plus bonuses and benefits and is contingent on relevant experience.
