What is interior design relocation?

Interior design relocation refers to the process of moving and setting up interior spaces—such as homes, offices, or commercial properties—while maintaining or enhancing their design aesthetics and functionality. This service typically involves planning the layout of furniture and décor in the new space, coordinating logistics for transportation, and ensuring the new environment meets the client's style and needs. Interior designers may also help source new furnishings, manage installations, and work with movers to protect valuable items. The goal is to provide a seamless transition that preserves or improves the look and feel of the original space.

How does an interior designer specializing in relocation typically collaborate with clients and other professionals during a move?

Interior designers focused on relocation work closely with clients to understand their needs and preferences, both before and after a move. They often coordinate with moving companies, contractors, and vendors to ensure seamless furniture placement, space planning, and optimal design in the new space. Regular communication and site visits are common, and designers frequently manage timelines and budgets while addressing any challenges that arise during the transition. This collaborative approach ensures the client's new environment is both functional and stylish, minimizing stress during the relocation process.

  • Producing detailed project documentation in Revit
  • Managing FF&E specification and procurement
  • Supporting construction administration efforts
  • Mentoring junior team members and contributing to a strong studio culture

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys both the creative and technical sides of design.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture
  • 5-10 years of professional interior design experience
  • NCIDQ accreditation
  • Experience on large-scale, complex projects
  • Strong portfolio showcasing design thinking and execution
  • High proficiency in Revit (rendering experience required; Enscape preferred)
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Confidence working directly with clients and consultants
  • A self-starter mindset with the ability to work independently

Preferred experience
  • Healthcare environments

  • Project management exposure
  • A commitment to fostering an equitable and inclusive team environment

Compensation & Benefits
  • $70,000-$100,000 base salary, depending on experience
  • Competitive total compensation structure
  • Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life insurance
  • 401(k) with employer match
  • Paid vacation, sick, holiday, and volunteer time
  • Flexible work environment
  • Paid relocation assistance

If you're ready to join a fast-moving, high-achieving team where your work truly matters and where your growth is intentional, we'd love to connect.
