The Opportunity
Weย maintainย a rotating cohort of interns with openings throughout the year. These paid, six-month internships are open to students and recent graduates from around the world. Theย Interior Design Internshipย program is rooted in mentorship and offers immersive exposure to the full spectrum ofย the designย practice.ย 

Weโ€™reย looking for an Interior Design Intern who is curious, resourceful, and highly organizedย -ย with a strongย commitment to design excellence and a collaborative spirit. Whatย Youโ€™llย Doย 

  • Design Process:ย 
    • Models andย rendersย design concepts in support of conceptual design development.
    • Gathersย graphics, materialย boardsย and interior design information into packages for client and design teamย presentationsย .ย 
  • Collaboration and Communication:ย ย ย 
    • Contributes ideas, solutions, and deliverables in team and project environments.ย 
    • May work closely with vendors and senior team members to prepare design, research materials and FFE options, spaceย plan, and documentation support on projects.
  • Administration and Documentation:ย ย ย 
    • Prepares interior construction documents including custom furniture design and specification while working closely with senior team members.
  • Additionalย duties and projects:ย 
    • Support special projects and perform other duties as assigned or necessary.ย 

Qualificationsย 

  • Required:ย 
    • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Interior Designย or current enrollment in aย Bachelorโ€™sย program (preferablyย CIDA-accredited).ย 
    • Portfolioย demonstratingย design ability and technical skills.ย 
    • Understanding ofย color theory, material basics, ergonomics, basic furniture design, and sourcing of FFE (furniture, fixtures, and equipment).ย 
    • โ€‹โ€‹Proficiencyย in producing visually compelling presentations, interior drawings, and renderingsโ€‹ย 
    • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Revit,ย  MS Office Suite
    • Demonstrated interest in pursuing a career in interior design.ย 
    • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. (international candidates must secureย appropriate workย authorization).ย 
  • Nice to Have:ย 
    • Prior internship or professional experience in an interior designย or architectural firm.
    • Interest in Olson Kundigโ€™s design philosophy and project types.ย
