Job description

Responsibilities

The Senior Project Manager of Interior Design will lead and oversee all aspects of the interior design process across Related Ross’s large-scale, mixed-use and luxury development portfolio, with a primary focus on Hospitality, Retail and Office. This role is responsible for establishing and upholding interior design standards, managing internal and external design teams, and ensuring design excellence from concept through project completion.

This individual will play a critical leadership role in guiding the concept, direction, oversight, and implementation of interiors, balancing creative vision with technical execution across all phases of design, documentation, procurement, and construction. The position requires a strategic thinker with deep experience in high-end interiors who can manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects while maintaining the highest level of design integrity.

Working closely with top-tier interior designers, architects, and consultants, this role will collaborate cross-functionally with development, construction, marketing, leasing, and operations teams to deliver cohesive, market-leading environments. The Senior Project Manager will report to the Executive Vice President of Construction with a strong link to the development team and will serve as a key contributor in shaping the design vision and execution of Related Ross’s world-class portfolio.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Design Leadership & Strategy

  • Drive interior design strategy and standards across commercial developments
  • Drive the design of lobbies, amenities and public spaces, creating distinctive, elevated environments that enhance tenant and guest experience and reinforce the project’s identity
  • Lead concept development, material direction and design intent in collaboration with internal teams and external designers
  • Ensure alignment with brand positioning, market expectations and guest experience

Project & Stakeholder Management

  • Oversee the process, timelines, and implementation of all assigned interior development projects, ensuring alignment with the overall master project schedule
  • Manage and maintain detailed design schedules in coordination with broader project milestones
  • Lead regular interior design and coordination meetings; represent Interiors and report progress, risks, and key decisions to leadership, as applicable
  • Coordinate internal and external design reviews, driving alignment and securing approvals from key stakeholders, as required
  • Record, track, and communicate action items from all design and coordination meetings to ensure accountability and follow-through
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and design excellence while regularly engaging internal and external stakeholders to monitor progress, resolve issues and maintain project momentum

FF&E, Procurement & Vendor Management

  • Oversee FF&E strategy, including research, budgeting, and procurement execution, to identify and deliver furniture, fabrics, finishes, and accessories that support each project’s design intent
  • Lead vendor selection, negotiations, and contract management
  • Drive cost efficiencies while maintaining design integrity
  • Ensure timely procurement, expediting and delivery across all projects
  • Track consultant progress, invoices, and deliverables; manage changes in scope or budget as required.

Execution & Installation

  • Oversee construction and installation of all commercial interior scopes
  • Ensure final execution aligns with design intent and quality standards
  • Lead punch list, styling, and project close-out

Operational Integration

  • Align interiors with leasing, marketing, and asset strategies
  • Ensure functionality and performance of all designed spaces

Qualifications
  • 10-15+ years of experience in hospitality, retail and/or office interior design
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree required
  • Proven leadership in complex, high-end large-scale projects and consultants
  • Strong expertise in FF&E, procurement, and execution
  • Excellent design management skills, communication and strategic thinking skills
