Interior Designer

Location: South Bend, IN (On-site)
Job Type: Full-time

Position Overview

We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Interior Designer to join our team in South Bend, Indiana. In this role, you will collaborate with project managers, architects, consultants, and clients to develop innovative interior design solutions for a variety of projects. The ideal candidate is creative, technically proficient, and experienced in developing design concepts through construction documentation while ensuring compliance with applicable building codes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Report directly to the Project Manager and support projects throughout all phases of design and construction.

  • Develop creative and functional interior design concepts that align with client goals and project requirements.

  • Coordinate and collaborate with project teams, consultants, and other design disciplines to ensure seamless project execution.

  • Review and apply applicable building codes, accessibility standards, and industry regulations.

  • Research, evaluate, and specify finishes, furniture, fixtures, equipment (FF&E), and building materials.

  • Prepare detailed technical drawings, construction documents, and project specifications.

  • Create and present design concepts, material boards, and presentations to clients and stakeholders.

  • Maintain strong client relationships through regular communication and project coordination.

  • Conduct site visits as required and prepare construction observation reports.

  • Manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality standards.

  • Represent the firm professionally and uphold its values and commitment to design excellence.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design from a CIDA-accredited program preferred.

  • NCIDQ Certification preferred.

  • Registered Interior Designer in at least one U.S. state is highly desirable.

  • LEED AP credential is a plus.

  • Relevant professional or internship experience in commercial or architectural interior design.

  • Strong understanding of space planning, construction documentation, building codes, and material selection.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and presentation skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Technical Skills
  • Proficiency in Revit or AutoCAD is required.

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite is preferred.
