Interior construction refers to the process of building, renovating, or remodeling the internal spaces of a structure. This includes installing walls, ceilings, flooring, and interior finishes, as well as integrating systems like lighting, HVAC, and plumbing. Professionals in interior construction work closely with architects, designers, and clients to ensure that the space is functional, safe, and aesthetically pleasing. The work may involve both commercial and residential projects and often requires knowledge of building codes and regulations.

Job description

Build Exceptional Spaces as an Interior Construction Technician

At Pigott, weโ€™re looking for a skilled Finish Carpenter to join our Interior Construction team as an Interior Construction Technician. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on finish carpentry or commercial construction experience who takes pride in precision, craftsmanship, and high-quality interior detail work.

Youโ€™ll play a key role in installing interior construction systemsโ€”bringing detailed layouts and architectural plans to life with accuracy and care. Working alongside our Lead Technicians and Project Managers, youโ€™ll help deliver finished interior environments that require tight alignment, clean execution, and a strong eye for detail.

If you enjoy working with your hands, solving problems on-site, and taking ownership of the quality and finish of your work, this is a strong opportunity to grow your career in interior construction.

This role is a great fit for someone with finish carpentry or installation experience who is ready to continue building their skills and potentially step into leadership. If youโ€™ve led crews or taken ownership of quality-driven workโ€”even outside of furniture installationโ€”youโ€™ll find a clear path for growth with us.

What Youโ€™ll Do

  • Assist in the installation of interior construction systems, including wall systems and related components
  • Receive, unload, stage, and organize materials for job site execution
  • Ensure proper layout and alignment prior to installation
  • Work closely with Lead Technicians and Project Managers to complete projects efficiently and accurately
  • Communicate issues, updates, and progress in a professional manner
  • Perform punch list work, troubleshooting, repairs, and service items as needed
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site
  • Support furniture installation teams when interior construction work is not active

What Weโ€™re Looking For

  • Experience as a Finish Carpenter or in commercial/residential construction (1โ€“3 years preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Comfortable using hand and power tools in a job site environment
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to problem-solve and adapt in fast-moving construction environments

What Youโ€™ll Need

  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 100 lbs
  • Full range of physical mobility required for construction environments
  • Willingness to travel within the region as needed
  • Ability to complete required job site safety training and follow all safety standards

Why Join Pigott?

  • Growth Opportunities โ€“ pathways into Lead Technician, Project Manager, and Project Coordinator roles
  • Meaningful Work โ€“ hands-on interior construction projects across diverse industries and clients
  • Culture & Values โ€“ we live our core values: Do The Right Thing, Create Exceptional Experiences, Lead The Way, and Choose Your Voice
  • Team Environment โ€“ work with a skilled, supportive team that values craftsmanship and collaboration
  • Stability โ€“ Pigott has a long-standing reputation for quality and trusted client partnerships
