Job description

Machine operator will be working in our Columbus Ice Cream packaging equipment plant. This facility employs 30+ union team members. This plant is 125k sq.ft, operates with four work centers and possess a strong team oriented culture. Attached to the plant is a Weston Foods corporate office that supports Supply Chain and Transportation.

Join our Interbake Foods facility in Columbus, OH. The Columbus site provides novelty-manufacturing systems to dairy processors in North America. Our systems include filling machinery, ice cream cones, ice cream sandwich wafers, push-up tubes, cups and containers.

A Machine Operator is expected to know how his/her equipment operates and be able to identify and repair simple mechanical problems like stalls or jams. Individuals hired into this role will be trained to operate various machines within the facility. Manufacturing experience is strongly preferred, but not required.

Starting rate is 17.20/hr

Essential Responsibilities

·         Cleaning and maintaining assigned work area

·         Safety is non-negotiable, one must practice safe work habits as an individual and with co-workers

·         Perform routine procedures on all production equipment

·         Must be able to operate, adjust, and regulate equipment so as to produce finished products of acceptable quality

·         Proper packing and counting of finished products into shipping containers

·         Other assigned duties as needed. Some duties may be repetitive in nature

Qualification and Skills:

·         High School Diploma/GED is required

·         High level of attention to details and following detailed instructions accurately

·         Works effectively in a team environment
