Job Summary

The Business Intelligence Analyst designs, develops, and maintains business intelligence reports, dashboards, and data visualizations that support operational and strategic decisionโ€‘making across the organization. This role partners with business leaders to gather reporting requirements, develop SQLโ€‘based data solutions, and deliver accurate, timely analytics through Tableau and other business intelligence tools. The Business Intelligence Analyst also supports reporting enhancements, data integrity, and emerging analytics technologies to improve business performance.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Meet with business leaders and stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document reporting and dashboard requirements.
  • Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Tableau.
  • Develop SQL queries to retrieve, analyze, and prepare data for reports, dashboards, and business intelligence solutions.
  • Develop and maintain data models to support enterprise reporting, including fact and dimension tables and star schema designs.
  • Validate data accuracy and ensure consistency across reports, dashboards, and source systems.
  • Develop and maintain standardized reports and dashboards that promote consistent reporting across departments.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable reporting solutions that provide meaningful operational and financial insights.
  • Consult with business leaders to understand reporting needs and recommend business intelligence solutions that support operational objectives.
  • Develop executive, operational, and departmental KPI dashboards to support performance monitoring and decisionโ€‘making.
  • Partner with crossโ€‘functional teams to identify reporting opportunities and recommend process improvements through business intelligence solutions.
  • Document report specifications, SQL scripts, data definitions, and dashboard functionality.
  • Monitor and maintain existing reports and dashboards, implementing enhancements and resolving data or reporting issues as needed.
  • Support data integration and reporting initiatives involving SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or other relational database platforms.
  • Assist with troubleshooting reporting, data, and systemโ€‘related issues impacting business intelligence solutions.
  • Support the evaluation and implementation of AIโ€‘enabled reporting, automation, and analytics solutions, including the use of Python, APIs, and emerging AI technologies where applicable.
  • Stay current on business intelligence, analytics, and data visualization best practices and recommend improvements to reporting capabilities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills
  • Working knowledge of SQL skills, including joins, Common Table Expressions (CTEs), window functions, stored procedures, and query optimization.
  • Proficiency in Tableau report and dashboard development.
  • Understanding of relational databases and data modeling concepts, including fact and dimension table design.
  • Ability to gather business requirements and translate them into technical reporting solutions.
  • Knowledge of business intelligence concepts, KPI development, and data visualization best practices.
  • Strong analytical, problemโ€‘solving, and criticalโ€‘thinking skills.
