The NM APTM (New Mexico Advanced Packaging Technology Manufacturing) plant in Rio Rancho, New Mexico has a year-round studentship program for students interested in working as a Manufacturing Technician. Join us and help us create the next generation of technologies that will shape the future for decades to come. You will be in a fast paced and challenging environment performing functions associated with wafer movement within our NM factories.
This position supports manufacturing operations by performing equipment setup, monitoring production processes, and conducting quality checks. Assists in troubleshooting machinery and optimizing production efficiency to meet output goals. Collaborates with engineering and operations teams to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. As an intern, learns and applies knowledge, builds skills, and explores future career opportunities through hands-on experience and projects that support Intel business goals in a collaborative environment.
The position is a part-time (20-32 hours a week during the school year, up to 40 hours a week on breaks/summers) with flexible hours around a student's school schedule while still in alignment with a one of the following factory shifts:
  • Shift 4: (nights frontend) PM-AM Sun-Tues and alternating Saturday nights.
  • Shift 5: (days frontend) AM-PM Sun-Tues and alternating Wednesday days.
  • Shift 6: (nights backend) PM-AM Wed-Sat and alternating Saturday night.
  • Shift 7: (days backend) AM-PM Thurs-Sat and alternating Wednesday days.

Must be willing to lift up to 35 pounds (18 kgs) 4 times a day.
This position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
Must be willing to work in a clean room environment, wearing coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses and gloves.
Qualifications:
You must possess the minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Relevant experience can be obtained through schoolwork, classes, project work, internships, and/or military experience. This position is not eligible for Intel immigration sponsorship. This position is located in Rio Rancho, New Mexico relocation will not be offered for this position.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Actively enrolled and progressing as a student pursuing an AAS Degree or certification in Automotive Technology, Aviation Technology, Electrical Trades, Heating/Ventilation/AC/Refrigeration, Industrial Automation Technology (Mechatronics), Machine Tool Technology or related field of study.
  • 1+ month of experience with basic Microsoft applications, ex: Excel, Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Basic knowledge on any of the following areas: electronics, equipment troubleshooting, installation, repair and operations.
  • Experience performing hands-on, auto repair, welding, soldering, robotics, crafting. Preventative and corrective maintenance on equipment.
  • Work experience in a team environment.
  • Experience with schematics and drawings/diagrams and Integrated circuit fabrication.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in the US: $48,600.00-53,700.00 USD (Hourly Role)
