Description:
The Onshore Mechanical Integrity (MI) Inspector plans, coordinates, and technically supports Mechanical Integrity inspection activities by developing inspection plans and work packs, communicating execution requirements to offshore crews, and tracking inspection progress. The role ensures accurate inspection data, reporting, and recommendations are entered into APM and submitted to MI Engineering to support safe, compliant, and risk-based asset integrity decisions.
• Communicate inspection plans and schedule execution to offshore MI inspection crews and track Progress.
• Create inspection plan work packs to define tasks, detailed data requirements and reporting criteria for MI inspection plans.
• Create and submit reports in APM for MI Engineer review and completion
• Prepare, manage, and close-out MI inspection plans, including offshore QA/QC inspection Scopes
• Provide technical expertise for developing MI inspection plans, grouping, and sequencing of inspection tasks
• Recommend suitable inspection techniques
• Enter quality inspection history to enable data analysis for MI Inspection Strategy development
• Submit proposed recommendations through APM for assessment and approval by the MI Engineer
• Responsible for the input, update, and maintenance of inspection data in the APM
• Communicate non-scheduled inspection requests to MI Engineer
Education:
• Technical diploma or equivalent
• Plant inspection certificates
Professional/Technical Qualifications/Licences/Certifications:
Experience:
• Minimum of 15 years' experience in inspection related role with implementation of Mechanical Integrity Programs and use of inspection and corrosion management databases, such as APM, for Oil and Gas Production, Petrochemical, and or Refining facilities.
• Minimum of 10 years' offshore experience related to pressure vessels, topside piping, storage tanks and structural inspections.
Skills & Competencies:
• Demonstrates sound knowledge of integrity engineering practices and familiarity with integrity inspection plans and program execution.
• Strong knowledge of inspection codes (API-579,510,570,580) in addition to holding the credentials of API inspection codes.
• Basic knowledge of project management, cost estimation and value-added economic evaluations
• Excellent planning and organizing skills to handle multiple projects at the same time.
• Demonstrates strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to communicate well across teams and functional groups.
• Strong written and oral communication skills
